Handmade Holidays 2016 + CAS Tuesday + Magical Christmas Masculine Card

Clean & Simple Tuesday

Hello there and welcome to another Handmade Holidays 2016 card that I’ve combined with a Clean and Simple Tuesday card. I was really hoping to get more cards and other projects done for you, but the next thing I know…it’s Christmas! I’ve also been spending a lot of time with my son too. I’m sure I’ll still be able to squeeze a few in. I was hoping to make more than just cards. There are Christmas projects scattered throughout my blog from October 2016 to the present time.

Today’s masculine card was so fun and easy to make. It has just the right amount of bling and very cool. I know better than this, but when you have an image that has writing on it or is very intricate and/or delicate, and you plan on heat embossing, be sure to use fine detail embossing powder. The chunkier embossing powder will just cover your words, as you can see in my stag from the Magical Christmas stamp set by Simon Says Stamp. This card can be easily mass produced in front of the TV.

I started with a Gina K Designs Pure Luxury Ivory Heavy Weight card stock base that is a side-folding A2 size card. I stamped the stag and sentiment banner onto GKD layering weight card stock, treated with my embossing buddy, stamped the images in Versamark, applied gold embossing powder and heat set. I then die-cut the images out with the coordinating dies.

That really cool flannel blanket patterned paper is from Carta Bella’s Special Delivery. I took it to my sewing machine and stitched the outer edge with gold thread. I left the tails of my gold thread about 6″ long each and threaded 3 small gold jingle bells onto the tails and then tied away to keep the bells together and secure. I tied a small bow with gold cord and adhered it to the center of the bells with a glue dot.

The stag head is beautiful, but my embossing powder did not do it justice at all. It happens.

Thank you so very much for stopping by today to visit me and I will see you back very soon with some more projects and especially a lot of Stampin’ Up! news that I’m pretty excited to share with you. God bless and have a great day!
