Paisleys & Posies Watercolor Card + Video

Hello there again my friends! It’s rainy, cold and a bit miserable outside and I honestly couldn’t be happier in drought-ridden California.

I had made THIS CARD a few days ago using the new Stampin’ Up! Paisleys & Posies stamp set and Hello You Thinlets, which was very well-received on social media, which I’m still absolutely terrible at keeping up with, so I thought that I would make another card. I made a video for today’s card. If you are interested in any of the supplies that I used, simply click on the links below in the supply list, fill up your cart and your new stamping happy mail will be delivered to your front door in a few days! It’s that easy.

This stamp set comes as a bundle with 18 images in the stamp set and 19 coordinating dies. There is also matching speciality designer series paper too! This suite of products is in the current Holiday 2016 Catalog, but there’s really nothing holiday about it. I definitely foresee this bundle carrying over to the upcoming 2017-2018 Idea Book & Catalog with one exception – brand new designer series paper! Stampin’ Up! retires their designer series paper (DSP) annually, so I would definitely hold onto this DSP as I’m sure it will coordinate with whatever Stampin’ Up! has up their sleeve for next year.

If you do not have an annual catalog or Holiday Catalog, please use the Contact Form above if you’re in the United States and I would be more than happy to get these sent out to you.

Onto my card now…I did not show the watercoloring in the video, but I did show you a way to watercolor with glimmer mist to bring sparkle and shine to your cards the easy way and no mess inside your ink pad lids. If the markers below are not currently available individually, they can be purchased in marker packs. I watercolored my image onto Very Vanilla regular card stock, not watercolor paper. I knew that I would not be using that much water and I had absolutely no pilling at all. I used Stampin’ Write Markers with an Aqua Painter in:

  1. Cajun Craze
  2. Delightful Dijon
  3. Mint Macaron
  4. Night of Navy
  5. Rich Razzleberry

As these are vibrant colors, the glimmer mist that I used as my “water” really softened the colors up. From the DSP,  there are bold and rich masculine colors in this card too. It’s an easy enough layout that allowed my image to take front and center stage while showing off my DSP. In the Holiday Catalog, there are so many other coordinating products that I will also have in the supply list for you below.

I’m not too much of a ribbon person, but with the holidays coming up, I’m definitely diving back into it. For this card, I used the pretty Mint Macaron 3/8″ Sheer Linen Ribbon. This ribbon ties beautifully and I made a double bow for my card. As additional embellishments, I used three 6 mm copper sequins that I literally found on my craft room floor. The DSP is luscious with so many patterns and two of the sheets have copper foil in them, which is one of my favorite colors.

This card is easy to mail despite the ribbon and fits perfectly into one of our medium-sized envelopes.

My sentiment is from the fabulous and extremely popular Jar of Love stamp set, that also comes as a bundle, which is featured in the annual and Holiday catalogs this year with different images. I love seeing products that I currently have being continued with seasonal images in new catalogs. You can use the same dies that you already have on hand and it’s an excellent investment for your stamping dollar. Everything coordinates!

As promised, here are the measurements that I used for my Soft Suede A2-size side-folding card. I’m going to start from the base of the card on up. I also mentioned the measurements in the video too.

Soft Suede card base:  4-1/4 x 5-1/2
DSP: 4-1/8 x 5-3/8
Soft Suede panel: 2-7/8 x 3-3/4
DSP: 2-3/4 x 3-5/8
Soft Suede panel: 2-3/8 x 3-1/8
Very Vanilla image panel: 2-1/4 x 3
