Forever Blossoms + a Few Old School Techniques

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a card featuring Forever Blossoms with the coordinating Cherry Blossoms Dies + the always reliable Very Versailles for my script background.

The old school techniques are tearing card stock and coloring on rubber stamps to impress your image. So often we forget about the way back then.

This was a very easy project to create, albeit maybe a little bit time consuming, but also perfect … since it’s been raining here for 10 days solid with no end in sight. I wish I could send all of my rain to California and Arizona, anywhere on the west coast.

As always, your Supplies and Instructions are below.

This time around, I did a left side A2 fold landscape card from Very Vanilla Thick CS. I stamped a piece of Crumb Cake CS with the large script image from Very Versailles with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then tore the CS on the right side, which I adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. There’s really no exact tearing measurements, although I listed mine below. You have to wing that one on your own depending upon your vision.

I used two coloring mediums to impress and fill in the floral image with Stampin’ Write Markers for the outlines of the various grouped images in Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, and Garden Green for the leaves, Early Espresso on the branch, with Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride on the flowers. Their coordinating Watercolor Pencils were used to fill in the flowers with a Blender Pen pulling out the color. The image was cut with its coordinating die and adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Versamark and white embossing powder were used for the sentiment onto Basic Black CS and also torn at the right side, then adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I tied a length of Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim knotted around the left side of the card. I feel like I’m missing something, but not sure what yet. Ideas?

This is one of those relaxing projects than can be altered to various holidays and occasions by changing the colors.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!

  1. could have embossed the card front with Tasteful Textile EF…..or add a little bling, something in the middle of the flowers or some sequins/ rhinestones (colored) around the front of the card. I love this set and am happy to have a different way to use it. Thanks for sharing.
