SUOC #342 | All That Glitters

Hello there! Happy New Year. I can’t believe it’s already 2024.

Thank you for joining me today for Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge #342, where we have an All That Glitters theme, and hope that you join us. This means to use anything with bling. Some examples are:

  1. Glimmer/glitter paper.
  2. Wink of Stella.
  3. Metallics/foil.
  4. Ribbon.
  5. Gems, rhinestones, sparkles …

… so have some fun.

For this challenge, I’m using the new super suite collection of Nature’s Sweetness that has 2 stamp sets, 2 sets of die-cuts, faux leather trim, designer series paper, and cork embellishments, that is available to you on Thursday, January 4. There is a lot of glimmer and metallics in this suite collection and I went with that.

I started out with a Pebbled Path card base and stamped an image from the Lovely & Sweet stamp set around the edges of the card base in Pebbled Path ink.

I cut another piece of Pebbled Path CS and layered on 3 different patterns of Nature’s Sweetness Specialty Designer Series Paper. The far left was adhered to the Pebbled Path CS with Seal. I cut the scripty pattern of the DSP using the notebook edge from Notes of Nature Dies and then tore the right side using a retired The Tearing Edge, then adhered with Seal. I tore the edge of the gold foil DSP and adhered this atop the DSP towards the notebook edge.

I then tied a length of Gold Faux Leather Trim around the entire panel and knotted in the center. This panel was then adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I went about cutting my Layering Circles from Pebbled Path CS and a 4th pattern of Nature’s Sweetness Specialty Designer Series Paper that were adhered together then to the card base with liquid adhesive.

I stamped the leaf cluster from Notes of Nature onto Very Vanilla Thick CS with Smoky Slate ink and colored the images with a Granny Apple Green Watercolor Pencil, blended out with a Blender Pen, and then cut from it’s coordinating die.

I stamped the sentiment onto Pecan Pie CS with Versamark ink, heat embossed with white powder, then cut from a Countryside Corners Die.

For final assembly, the leaf clusters were adhered over the circle cuts with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment was adhered with liquid adhesive.

Lastly, Cork Rounds and Festive Pearls were used to embellish.

For the inside, scrap DSP was used to line the left and bottom of the sentiment panel with another leaf cluster and Cord Round to decorate.

For cards with generic-type outside sentiments, I usually leave the inside black so I can customize for the recipient.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
