SUOC 267: It’s a Love Thing

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for SUOC 267, where we have a love theme for you, and invite you to play along.

Love is a lot of different things to all of us; i.e., friendship, spouse, significant other, child, family, animals/pet, etc. I created 2 friendship cards for you with the Love You Always Suite Collection and exclusive new designer series paper with Stampin’ Blends.

I’m not one to fit inside a creative box and with where I’m at in life, I can vision beyond the obvious and create what’s important to me and share with you. I made friendship cards for today’s challenge that are completely gender neutral. These are the kind of cards that you want to have on hand to send out that will cover everybody in a jiff. They’re also perfect to send to your tomboy daughters. The inside sentiment you choose will define this card.

What I truly appreciate about the Love You Always Suite Collection is everything that expands beyond traditional; in colors, sentiments, and images. The options are absolutely endless … and the black and white True Love DSP is a definite must have and staple favorite.

Before we get to the projects and challenge, I have a gift package idea for you on Thursday and a great video for you on Saturday.

Below are my cards and we will start with the new 6 x 6 color family designer series patterns for July 2021, featured in So Saffron on the left. This is another reminder that it’s okay to mix your neutrals.

The large flower from Forever & Always was stamped onto Thick Basic White with Smoky Slate ink and colored in with Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends. Don’t forget to leave the image on the door of your Stamparatus and after coloring, re-ink image in Memento Tuxedo Black to re-define the lines and get the crisp look without the smearing. This technique is a game-changer, especially with light colors, as seen with our next card. The leaf outline was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black with the solid leaf image in Basic Gray, that I completely forgot to include on the Supply List.

The sentiment panel was die-cut from the 2nd largest scalloped rectangle from Stitched So Sweetly out of Regular Basic White CS with the sentiment stamped at the top from Forever & Always in Memento Tuxedo Black. I added the heart border from Floral Hearts to the top of the sentiment panel to help ground it + to add dimension and texture.

A length of Very Vanilla Woven Thread from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack was tied around the bottom of the sentiment panel into a bow. This thread is so pliable to work with and a dream.

The sentiment panel, flower, and leaves were adhered with Mini and regular Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For the above card, the new Subtles 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper in 4 new trendy patterns for 2021 grounds this project. You can receive over 200 sheets of 5 color groups next week if you join my team today. You all know the value of the Starter Kit.

Our 2nd card above, was created the exact same way. I changed the sketch, flower and sentiment panel color.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Have a great day and God bless.

  1. Love the layout of your cards Cindy and your flowers really do pop on the front think it’s the great tip you shared about inking the image again after you’d coloured it will definitely be giving it a go x

  2. What a great way to change up one layout to get two different cards Cindy! Love the colour schemes too, especially the blue flower on the yellow – so fresh! Any friend would be delighted to receive them I’m sure!
