Stamps, Paper & Ink + a Button

Hello there y’all! Welcome to Day 2 of this week’s product focus on Needle & Thread and Stitched All Around. I went back to old school basics today and it was awesome. The blog title says it all. What spunks this card up is the use of accent images, that I neglect way too often. The 2 images that I used added grounding and playfulness to my project.

These 2 stamp sets and dies work beautiful together and it’s been fun to mix and match. I used the stitched floral image from Needle & Thread to stamp along the bottom with Poppy Parade. I first stamped the image in the middle and then used the door notches of the Stamparatus to stamp side of center with perfect alignment. This subtle design grounds the DSP and the images above, which do not look floating by placement of the Balmy Blue flower with a cute Needlepoint Nook Mini Button in Sahara Sand. As I’m typing this up, I’m really kicking around adding a mini button to the Poppy Parade flower. What do you think?

I took the little cross-stitch image from Stitched All Around, inked it up with Sahara Sand, did some sight line repeat stamping for a tone-on-tone punched out with the Leaf punch. You don’t expect to see that on leaves, which adds whimsy playfulness. I followed the Rule of 3’s and triangle formation in my sketch, flowers, and the use of Sahara Sand, which is a subtle color in the DSP. There’s some good texture going on here.

Everything is on Stampin’ Dimensionals. This is pretty clean and simple, but the unexpected in there, and it’s all good.

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today. Have a great day and God bless.
