Sewing, Distressing, and Tearing

I did a lot of sewing and distressing on my cards last week that I want to share with you. i would have posted them much earlier but we've had some awful storms that knocked out my internet for over 2 days. I was very frustrated and had so much to do of online banking, closing out some eBay auctions, etc. This was definitely bad timing. I was told that we wouldn't be back up online until Thursday at the earliest so I went into a full blown panic because I have so much work to do. Fortunately, I pre-posted my design team work for Paper Maniac where this week's theme is Mother's Day. They also have this new awesome Fan Blinkie that you'll  want to pick up too. I need to update my blog for my new Design Team blinkie. They're very cool and animated. Go to the Paper Maniac Blog to get yours!

I also participated in a Unity Triple Take Anniversary Sketch Challenge Splitcoast Stampers in honor of their 2nd birthday and used the same card for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge 37 based off of Psalm 139:13.

The CASE Artist Saturday Challenge 50 at Christian Paper Crafts was awesome too. Mary did a wonderful card, so I CASEd a CASE. I just couldn't resist with the papers that she used. The only thing that I changed was the image.

Then I made a card just for fun!

So, all three cards involved sewing, ink distressing, and edge tearing. The reason why you don't see any knots on the outside of my cards when I sew is because I tie my knots behind the card. With the thread that's left on the top, I carefully thread it back through one of the holes for a perfectly stitched card.

Another exciting announcement that I have today is that I was chosen as a design team member for a new challenge called Tuesday Throwdown. I am so honored and thrilled about this and you will be too once you start playing along. Our first challenge is on May 25, so please stop on by and participate! Don't forget to grab your blog button! You'll definitely recognize the names of this uber talented design team and I can't wait to serve alongside each and every one of those ladies.

Now for my cards. I'm going to post them in the order mentioned above and the recipe will be underneath each card. Thank you for stopping by today and God bless. Pray my internet stays up!

  2. HI Cindy – these cards are absolutely fabulous!  I love the colors and design of each!  It is fabulous symbolism to use stitching on a babycard !!  Thanks for showing the close ups too, they show the dimension perfectly!  Congratulations too on the new DT – you will be such an asset!  We are glad you joined us this week at Stampin' Sisters in Christ – we would love to see you again next week!! {{{hugs}}}
