Reverse Masking, Heat Embossing with the new Firm Foam Pads, and More!

Hi friends. My upline, Patty Bennett, challenges us monthly to try a new technique and this month is reverse masking. You can see her blog post and video here.

I don't reverse mask, paper pierce or do any of the most basic techniques, so I thought that I would give this a try. It's a little comedy of errors, but you know how I am  🙂

With the old Stampin' Classic Ink Pads, I always heat embossed with clear embossing powder just so I would get that pop and no fading of the ink. With the new firm foam pads, this is not necessary, but since I tried it anyway, I was amazed at the results and you will be too!

The clear powder adheres to the image very well and when you heat emboss with the new Heat Tool (love with 2 speeds as it blows out more heat than air), your image takes on a distressed/ bubble appearance yielding you some fabulous texture. This is also why I'm being a little picture heavy so you can see exactly what I mean.

Not only does it take only a few taps to get full coverage on your image, the foam bounces right back so that you have a smooth and even surface every time that you use them. These ink pads are a must for your collection. The difference is night and day. The colors are so rich, vibrant and vivid.

Here is my video that I would like to share with you and my Christmas card (yes, Christmas in June) is under the video.

Thank you for stopping by to visit me today and God bless you!
