Make the Cards Challenge #69 | Christmas Colors + October 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternative

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Make the Cards Challenge #69, where we have a theme of Christmas colors and hope that you join us!

I decided to use this challenge to create an alternate card from the October 2022 Paper Pumpkin Kit of Ho Ho Ho that was very easy to create.

For my ink splatters, I used a paint brush dipped into our Craft White Ink Refill and tapped it on the card front. I also used our Masking Paper to create the 1/2″ border on the sides of the card base.

All of the snowflakes are from the Paper Pumpkin Kit. I only brought in the splatters, embellishments, and cardstock.

If you are not already a Paper Pumpkin subscriber with mine, I strongly encourage you to subscribe. All of the Paper Pumpkin Kits range from whimsical to timeless classics and I find myself frequently incorporating the kit contents into my regular papercrafting.

As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.

I started with an A2 card base with Real Red CS.

I cut a piece of our Masking Paper x2 to 1/2″ that were adhered to the sides of the card base.

I dipped a paintbrush into our Whisper White Craft Ink Refill and splattered it on the card base. I set this aside to dry.

I built up the snowflakes in all 3 sizes by alternating the points and using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals with each snowflake using 2 dimensionals each. This is shown much better in the picture below from the side view. I staggered the snowflakes first with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional between the flakes and then added another dimensional to the back of the flakes to adhere to the card base later.

The sentiment from Ho Ho Ho was stamped onto Black CS with Versamark and heat set with white powder. I cut the sentiment to size with my Paper Trimmer.

For final assembly, I lined the snowflakes up on the card front top to bottom and then adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment was adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals that  I doubled up to maintain the same height as the snowflakes.

A large Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels was adhered to the center of each snowflake and that was it. So easy!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
