Hi friends and welcome to the first day of the official countdown release for the Inspired by Stamping April 2013 release! Here is the sneak peek of the Single Fancy Frame. We are also introducing a beautiful 16-piece set called Spring Blossoms that you don't want to miss out on either.
I am going to stop apologizing for my work because it's my work and I'm not going to degrade it, but I do have to let you know that when I was working on my release cards, I was at my studio at my dad's house where I have very limited supplies that I just took up and left, and it was challenging! My father had eye surgery for cancer under his eyelid and got a free eye lift to boot! He's doing great and his recovery has been amazing. I thought for sure the Sunday after his surgery he would have the mother of all shiners but the bruising was not bad at all. He could still wear his glasses but he sure was glad to take that patch off. Well, we took it off together and it was Friday morning when the nurse called and I didn't know what to expect and he just wanted to run into the bathroom to see what it looked like! He's very active for his age and I hope he doesn't overdo it – then he wonders where I get that trait from 🙂
So, not only was I on super limited supplies, I even took up the wrong paper for use in my Silhouette, which really, really bummed me out. I had to double cut this frame, seriously, 30 times on 80 pound card stock. Stampin' Up! is the best card stock to use that I have on hand and so is Neenah. With my card, as you can see, it's double matted. These cut files are free with this stamp set and they're like Nestability frames with at least 9 mats for you to use. Very cool! My first frame was cut onto white card stock and my mat onto Fresh Asparagus. I was surprised my Memento Rubarb didn't ink up as well as I expected so I had to stamp another one and then heat embossed it with some clear powder. My sentiment is from a new stamp set called Big Notes III that will be revealed to you later this week.
My card base is Vintage Cream layered with Cherry Red card stock and I layered on top of that some Farm Fresh patterned paper, that's an oldie but goodie (I will never tire of October Afternoon anything). I have two strips of Fresh Asparagus ribbon of 5/8" grosgrain with 3/8" organdy to bring together my patterned paper. I then used my glue gun to adhere the red rose from the flower assortment.
I hope that you enjoyed this easy card and appreciate the fun frame and how intricate the stamp is. It's really beautiful.
Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today and don't forget to check out the other projects featuring our April release from my design team colleagues!
