Harvest Tree ~ Our Craft Lounge September Guest Artist

Hi friends. This is my last card as being the Guest Artist for Our Craft Lounge this month and would like to thank Kendra and the team for having me amongst them. It's been fun and now I have a lot of wonderful new stamps to use too! For my last assignment, I used two stamp sets of Swingin' By (image) and Fall Scarecrow (sentiment). I had several Copic markers in front of me and was going to color each leaf a different fall color. Then I thought that this was going to take me forever to do so I grabbed some fall-colored pencils and just scribbled on the tree randomly. To blend all of the colors, I used baby oil and a paper blending stump. I'm amazed at how realistic the leaves of the tree look. Swingin' By is actually a summertime/birthday stamp set but by just using the tree image alone combined with a fall sentiment, it became an autumn card. I also drew lines on the tree trunk to make it look more realistic as well. I almost did a few doodles but did not want to push my luck. I dry embossed my designer paper with leaves and colored the grass under the tree using a mustard colored pencil and traced the lines of the grass with a brown colored pencil. I ink distressed everything but the black card stock.

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today. May the Lord richly bless your day. Today's Treasure: Proverbs 28. You know, I think I made that a Today's Treasure yesterday or last week and when I opened up my Bible, even though it wasn't bookmarked, it came up again. I think that I'll be reading this a few times to see what the Lord has in store for me. Here is my card for you and I hope that it provides you with inspiration.

  1. Love that tree! Great job on the coloring and it worked out wonderfully! The texture on the background DP along with the sweet button treatment finish off the card so nicely! Beautiful!
