Clean & Simple Easter Card + Ice Cream Cone Video Update

Hello there friends! I hope this finds you doing well. I had it in the planner to take an afternoon to make this video for you as to how I made this very cool shaker card. I have received a ton of requests to make a video as to how I got that tiny image larger and filled the ice cream portion full of all of those gorgeous seed beads, sequins, various shapes and sizes, and all sorts of other fun embellishments with the Sprinkles Embellishments. I am working on it.

I had made this awesome box for you that is sitting on my desk and God only knows where the instructions are, so I’m bummed about that too. It’s very cool. It’s like making a video and doing the voiceover a week later trying to remember those little details.

Today I wanted to share with you a very simple Easter card made with Butterfly Basics, Totally Trees and Suite Sentiments. Both are wonderful stamp sets in the Annual Idea Book & Catalog, which we sometimes forget about during Stampin’ Up! promotions.

There are 5 In Colors retiring on May 31 and I thought that I would play with a couple of them today of Mint Macaron and Tip Top Taupe. I wish I had spent more time with these colors, especially the Tip Top Taupe, because now I want to use it on everything.

On thing is definitely for sure and that is I need to learn to use some good picture editing software. It’s always a crap shoot, literally, LOL, as to how my pictures are going to turn out and sometimes I have some pretty awesome looking projects that the details and colors are just not being captured. I’ll add it to the list. This is why I only have one picture to share with you today, but it’s so easy that you get it.

I started out with an A2 side-folding Tip Top Taupe card base and layered on a piece of Pool Party. I also cut a piece of Very Vanilla. All of the mats are 1/8″ apart. I just started stamping the tree and branches in an alternating row pattern on the Very Vanilla cardstock with Tip Top Taupe ink. The tree top colors are Blushing Bride, Mint Macaron, So Saffron, Soft Sky/Pool Party, and Wisteria Wonder. My Soft Sky needed to be re-inked, I didn’t feel like doing it, so I cheated just a tad and was able to keep the Soft Sky color. I stamped the above colors randomly on the cardstock making sure that each color had its own visual triangle.

There are a lot of great stamps in Totally Trees and again, I hope this one is carried over to the new catalog. I wanted something soft and pastel after the harshness of bold Christmas and Valentine’s Day colors, so expect for me to be on a pastel kick forever – but we all know it will be more like 1-2 cards.

I also used some enamel dots on my tree tops to whittle down my Stampin’ Up! collection a little bit. Do not take my word for this but I think I had heard that the enamel dots will be retiring. I do know the retirement list will be coming out around April 21. I filled out my tree background with little leaves and grass. I found a scrap of Pool Party Glitter Ribbon to use behind my sentiment die-cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies. The scallop mat was cut from Tip Top Taupe and the circle mat was cut from Very Vanilla. I stamped my sentiment from Suite Sentiments. A silver clip from the Mini Paper Clips Combo Pack was clipped onto the left side of my sentiment and a butterfly in was stamped with Blushing Bride onto Blushing Bride cardstock for a tone-on-tone look. I punched out the butterfly with the Bitty Butterfly punch, colored on some Wink of Stella and adhered 3 rhinestones down the middle, a few glue dots on the back and onto the sentiment oval she went. The sentiment was put up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Thank you so very much for stopping by to visit me today. I do have another card I’m putting together right now that I watercolored. I can’t believe it’s Day 4 of The Daily Marker 30-Day Challenge and I haven’t done anything. That challenge is the only thing that really keeps me focused in the craft room for a month. The challenge is just to color a few minutes a day to unwind and Kathy Racoosin‘s challenge went viral. You post your coloring on any social media avenue and use the hashtag #dailymarker30day. Be sure to check out Kathy’s blog for all of her social media connections. The woman is a coloring beast!

Have a wonderful day and God bless!
