Make the Cards Challenge #55 | Use 2 Designer Series or Patterned Paper + Awash in Beauty Suite Collection

May 18, 2022 by Cindy Coutts +

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Make the Cards Challenge #55, where our challenge is to use 2 designer series paper. This is an easy one, so go and have some fun. We hope that you join us!

I am using the new Awash in Beauty Suite Collection with a book bind fun fold that fits into one of our Medium Basic White Envelopes, as do the large majority of fun folds.

There are some fabulously rich colors with pastels in this suite collection, which makes it extremely versatile, like all of our products. I used the entire suite of products on this project.

I absolutely appreciate the colors in the Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper because you can mix a lot of the patterns with the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper, and I can’t wait to really unpack the potential.

This amazing suite collection includes the True Beauty Stamp Set, Organic Beauty Die-Cuts, Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper, and Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels in 2 sizes.

The images are our patented DistINKtive cling stamps.

As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.

For a quick rundown on measurements, please look at the Instructions below as to how I cut and scored the card base, and cut the designer series paper. After this, it’s an easy eyeball assemble, but I do have photos to give you a good visual if this is a new fold to you.

I brought in the Give it a Whirl Dies to cut the sentiment that was stamped onto So Saffron CS with Merry Merlot ink.

With rich inks, I always coat the ink with clear embossing powder to heat set that always eliminates the smear factor with these colors, because they are fussy.

To achieve the book bind look, you simply adhere the 1″ between the score lines together. You are still able to tie a piece of ribbon around the card, as shown below, and it will still stand up + an easy mail.

For the inside of the card, I adhered another piece of DSP on the left and Basic White CS on the right for the sentiment panel.

As you can see, there’s a ton of dimension and interest with this unique fold and I hope you give it a try yourself and definitely participate in our designer series paper challenge today!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
