Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a focus on ink blending card created with the Sand & Sea Collection Suite.
Do not be intimidated to try something like this. It’s very easy and handmade is not perfect. I also used cardstock that I have not used in what seems like forever, of Shimmery White. Our cardstock is so luxurious that blending is seamless.
I started out with an A2 top-folding 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 Thick Basic White card base and layered on a piece of Pretty Peacock CS cut to 3-3/4 x 5. I cut a piece of Shimmery White CS to 3-5/8 x 4-7/8, which will be our image and blending panel.
I used the same Blending Brush to apply all 3 colors. All you have to do is blend any remaining color out on our grid paper and add your next color. I use one brush per color, i.e., all of my greens use the same Blending Brush.
I started with Pretty Peacock at the bottom right corner and blended/worked my way up the panel in a C-type of manner, which is visible. I then used the same technique with Balmy Blue and Pool Party, working my way up the panel. As with coloring, it’s all in the wrist of how you want to apply the ink by the pressure you use. You are ultimately after an ombre look.
Once I blended my colors on the panel, I used a little water on my fingers to flick on and Wink of Stella. I did not have to lift the water or Wink of Stella off; it mottled exactly how it was supposed to.
At the right corner, a seabed image was stamped 5x in full strength Pretty Peacock with the sand dollar and starfish images stamped off several times diagonally.
When all of the ink was dry, wrapped around 3 lengths of Linen Thread, bowed it to the left, and adhered with Seal.
The sentiment was stamped onto Regular Basic White CS with Memento Tuxedo Black and die-cut from Hippo & Friends. I again stamped off several times the seaweed image with Pretty Peacock and semi-framed the sentiment, that was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Several sequins from Woven Threads Sequins were scattered about in Pretty Peacock and Purple Posy.
