Clean & Simple Tuesday

Hello there! What you do you think about my new blog design? I love it and am so pleased with the outcome of the final design, which will be complete by the end of the week.

There are just a few more tweaks that Brian is working on today and Nicole will be finishing up the graphics. I’m very excited for this fabulous new look. I highly recommend Integrant Services for any type of blogging, ongoing site management and graphic design. They offer so many services that I’m not even aware of. All I know is that they’ve been a completely full service company for my personal needs with stellar customer service. I’ve had an awesome experience. Brian is the technical expert and Nicole designs the stunning graphics.

Today’s unique card is for my Clean & Simple Tuesday series and CardMaker Magazine Facebook Card Challenge Corner.

The second I saw this sentiment stamp by Tim Holtz, Stamper’s Anonymous, P6-2806, One Day, I knew I had to have it. It’s a large and long wood block stamp; however, I managed to get it onto a card by making a tag card. The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink with clear embossing powder. Since this is a Tim Holtz stamp, it looks fuzzy and blurry, but it’s the stamp and Tim’s style of rustic grunge. As you can tell by my new blog design, I love gold, rose gold and black with a little rustic in the burlap and incorporated most of those elements into my card design. If you look closely at the picture, I used my new Kabuki Brushes with an MFT Diagonal Stripe stencil to highlight the background. If you click on the link above and leave a comment, you will be entered into a drawing to win your own set of these fabulous brushes. The contest closes tonight at midnight PST and I have a short demonstration video for you. You can triple your chances to win by leaving a comment on the appropriate blog post, my Instagram and You Tube where the demonstration video is. I do wish that I had covered a little bit more of the background, but it was an afterthought as I was assembling the card as my Pale Rose card stock really needed something. I’m very happy with the way that it turned out as it’s out-of-the-box for me.

The pink stripe patterned card stock on the left side was die-cut in a very unusual way in that I lined up the half-heart from My Favorite Things Blueprints Tag Builder Blueprints 3 up against the edge of the paper. I then put a Stampin’ Dimensional behind each heart at the top left for additional dimension. Under each heart, peaking through is a strip of MFT Gold Sparkle card stock. Tucked between the patterned paper and Gold Sparkle card stock is a strip of MFT Brushed Gold card stock. My card base is Bazzill Pale Rose. The patterned paper is from my stash, but it matched up perfectly. My sentiment was stamped on Ellen Hutson 43-lb weight vellum, which I trimmed down to 2″ across and punched the top using my Stampin’ Up! Scallop Tag Topper. This vellum embosses beautifully with no warping at all. I trimmed the end with my pinking shears. I cut a piece of Prima Gold Vellum card stock and also trimmed that to 2″ using the same punch as above and pinking shears.

To bring a little dimension to the Pale Rose card stock, I used an MFT Diagonal Stripe stencil and brushed over the stencil with MFT Insulation Pink Premium Dye Ink. I placed a Heidi Swapp Glittered Hole Reinforcement Sticker at the top of my tag and used Snail Adhesive by Stampin’ Up! directly onto the back of the gold vellum and adhered to my card at an angle. To help keep the clear vellum down, I added 3 small black hearts from the Yes, Please Enamel Shapes by Jen Allyson for My Mind’s Eye. I adore the Yes, Please collection and it’s right up my alley. There are so many beautiful elements of washi tape, enamel shapes, card stock, acetate ephemera bits, a mixed bag and more. I added a Stampin’ Up! Small Gold Clothespin and Gold Glitter Twine from the Baker’s Twine Trio Pack in the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog, which was threaded through the tag and tied into a knot at the bottom. From a side view, you can see a bit of the Gold Sparkle card stock under the half-hearts. It was difficult to get a picture of this due to the time of day and weather.

Even though I used a lot of different brands of product on this card, it pulled together seamlessly and flows very well.
