Vellum Die-Cut Christmas Card

Hello there y’all and a very happy Friday to you! Today’s Dashing Deer card features vellum as the card base. I really wanted the right and left sides of the card to show the vellum on the edges, and it worked out just fine. Definitely makes for something a bit different. This card was so easy, as are all of mine, it will mail flat with one postage stamp, and still looks good.

As you can tell, I’m totally hooked on the Buffalo Check background and I’m never giving it up. This is a staple. It’s a classic pattern that never goes out of style. It just comes out of the trend closet every now and then.

When die-cutting the teeny flowers and deer, you definitely want to use your Precision Base Plate. I use wax or parchment paper, especially with extreme intricate and small Thinlets. The images fall right out of the Thinlet and this reduces your chances of tearing your card stock, specialty paper or designer series paper.

I applied SNAIL to the back of the deer and adhered to the vellum circle. To adhere the vellum circle down to the Real Red Buffalo Check, I only applied adhesive behind the deer on the vellum, including the antlers. I need the vellum circle secure on the card front. Considering the card base is vellum, this card stands up on its own beautifully.

I hope you’ve enjoyed die-cutting with me this week and have been inspired. Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today. Have a great day and God bless.
