Technique Video: Masking with Love of Leaves Stamp Set + Stitched Leaves Dies

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a masking technique demonstrated with our Love of Leaves Bundle in the Annual Catalog.

Here is a video I created on how to mask that you can view HERE.

Use this link to purchase the Stamping Mask Paper or click on the image below.  We do not carry masking paper in our catalog or seasonal brochures, but I do consider this a paper crafting staple OR you could cut your die into a piece of Basic White CS and use that as a mask. I find the light tacky adhesive back of the masking paper invaluable and incredibly convenient. In the spirit of full disclosure, the link is to my Amazon Affiliate account, at no additional cost to you.

As always, your Supplies and Instructions, with measurements, are below.

I started out with an A2 top-folding Smoky Slate card base. A piece diamond pattern Smoky Slate from Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper was die-cut using the 2nd largest die from Stitched Rectangles. I stamped the large sentiment from Well Defined in Memento Tuxedo Black at the bottom of the DSP panel. I absolutely love large sentiments with their bold and striking presentation.

After I stamped the sentiment at the bottom center of the image panel, I cut a square piece of 2-3/4″ Stamping Mask Paper and die-cut in a 2-1/8″ Layering Circle. I peeled off the blue backing and adhered/centered the mask to my Peaceful Place DSP above the sentiment. I used one of our fabulous Blending Brushes to ink Pool Party within the masked circle to ground the leaves.

I stamped the long leaf from Love of Leaves 3x in Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Mango Melody, that were cut with its coordinating die from Stitched Leaves Dies. I put a Mini Glue Dot on the top back of all 3 leaves to initially adhere together, then flipped the images over to add Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back. After I arranged and adhered the leaves on top of the DSP, I added a Mini Glue Dot at the junction of the leaves and stems. I cut a length of Linen Thread, tied into a bow, and adhered onto the Mini Glue Dot.

I scattered about 5 Clear Epoxy Essentials on the image/sentiment panel, which was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the sentiment/image panel.

This is such an easy card to create with endless color possibilities with the rest of our product line.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
