More on Elements and Accessories + Non-Traditional Halloween Card

Hello there y’all! Today’s card is more of an adult Halloween card with a lot of various textures, dimension, accessories, and elements. This is what we are making today.

I love it and hope you do too. This is totally unexpected in a Halloween card. I got a lot of mileage from an older stamp set and Thinlits of Swirly Bird and Scribbles. I pulled in the little Crumb Cake/Soft Suede ghosts from Cauldron Bubble, the star cluster image. The neutral colors really pull this design together. Use your imagination to stack and build various textures, elements, accessories, and dimension. It’s your art and it doesn’t always have to be “normal.” This works.

I used the Stitched Shaped Framelits (145372) to die-cut the newsprint circle out that I forgot to include. I layered on top the die-cut frame from Swirly Scribbles Thinlits in Basic Black, tucked a White Velveteen Sheet 2″ Circle Punch that I shaped into a custom moon, and then punched out a bat with a Black Foil Sheet to adhere to the moon. Peeking out behind, are the 2 cute ghosts. I die-cut the large Black Glimmer Paper from Swirly Scribbles and the spider webs from Cauldron Framelits Dies with Soft Suede Card Stock, which is currently in a Bundle with Cauldron Bubble from the Holiday Catalog.

Old books and magazines are excellent accessories and elements to use on any project and always on trend. Thank you so very much for stopping by to visit me today. I hope that you are inspired by this card. Have a great day and God bless.

  1. Fun Halloween card! I have seen so many ideas using the Swirly Bird dies. Love that set! The spider webs and bat look great on your card too!
