Make the Cards Challenge #51, Sketch + a Happy Accident

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Make the Cards Challenge #51, where we are having a classic sketch challenge and hope that you join us!

For today’s card, I used the fantastic Hand-Penned Suite Collection with Pretty Pillow Box Dies for the tag sentiment.

I used the large suite collection color palette and added in Pale Papaya, which is a fabulous complimentary color all the way around.

As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.

I started out with an A2 Basic White Thick card base and layered on my DSP with the measurements below using liquid adhesive.

Floral stems were stamped in Pool Party with the buds in Highland Heather at the far left.

I stamped the large leaf image above the scalloped DSP on the far right in Daffodil Delight … which is the perfect way to cover a mistake that turns into a happy accident. If you look closely, you can see the leaf is a bit surface bruised and I wanted to minimize this because I already had my DSP adhered, which I didn’t want to go to waste along with my card base.

I cut the image panel down to 3-1/2 x 5 and lined up the image on the left panel that matches the left card base and got those down. Additionally, I added more leaves and florals to the right of the image panel in Pale Papaya, Mint Macaron, and Highland Heather.

I then stamped the large floral cluster onto Basic White Regular CS in Smoky Slate and left the image on the door of the Stamparatus.

The inner florals were stamped in:

Flowers: Blushing Bride, Pale Papaya, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party.

Leaves: Garden Green, Mint Macaron.

Upon completion, I reinserted the image back in the Stamparatus, inked it up with Memento Tuxedo Black, and then re-stamped. This was cut from its coordinating die and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

These images are not designed to line up exactly with the line art, which is reflected in the coordinating designer series paper, for more of a messy watercolor look.

I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Basic White Regular CS in Memento Tuxedo Black and then cut it from the tag die in Pretty Pillow Box. I stamped a small leaf in Mint Macaron at the top right of the tag. Two Stampin’ Dimensionals were adhered to the back of the tag.

I wrapped our Linen Thread around the image panel twice, tied a knot, pulled the tails up through the tag, and tied a bow. Three Genial Gems were scattered about the image panel and sentiment tag.

I adhered a piece of DSP to the bottom of the inside of the card base and stamped the large floral image in Pale Papaya.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
