Let’s Craft & Create Challenge #191 | Anything Goes + Black & White Option

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for the Let’s Craft & Create Challenge #191. These popular challenges are always Anything Goes with an option, that are posted on the 5th of each month. For the January 2023 challenge, the option is using black and white on your project. You will see my monthly take on these challenges as a Design Team Member.

For today’s challenge, my black and white is the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog and Covered in Sunshine stamp set (outside sentiment) Item 160726 + Happy Labels stamp set (inside sentiment) Item 160685 from the Spring Mini Catalog to create this clean and simple card. All of the new products used are available to you today!

I started out with an A2 card base and layered on a piece of Perfectly Penciled DSP cut to the same size as the card base with Seal Adhesive.

I took a piece of Basic White Regular CS, also cut to the same size as the card, and cut in a border from Basic Borders at the bottom. I stamped the sun from Covered in Sunshine with Daffodil Delight ink and left the image on the lid of the Stamparatus. The sun was colored in with a Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil and blended out with a Blender Pen. The image was then re-stamped in Daffodil Delight ink to crisp up the line art.

The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black above the sun and the image was left on the lid of the Stamparatus. I used the Light Stampin’ Blends Marker of Polished Pink, Pumpkin Pie, and Granny Apple Green to highlight the sentiment. The sentiment was then re-stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black to crisp up the sentiment.

I then cut the image panel down to size and adhered it to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

For final assembly, 3 stars were punched from Starlit out of White Glimmer Paper. This paper is now retired but I am keeping it on board as a staple, as it will return sooner or later as a seasonal item. The stars were adhered with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and I accented the them with a silver Festive Pearl.

For the inside of the card, I cut the panel to the same size as the card front and stamped my sentiment from Happy Labels in Memento Tuxedo Black and images in Daffodil Delight.

A baby star from Starlit was punched from White Glimmer Paper and adhered to the panel with liquid adhesive.

I took a piece of scrap from the same DSP used on the outside of the card and adhered it to the top of the panel with Seal Adhesive.

The entire panel was adhered to the inside with Seal Adhesive.
