Hello there! I hope you are having a wonderful day so far. Today’s card for my Handmade Holidays 2016 features WPlus9 Stamps. I used 3 stamp sets of Hand Lettered Holiday, Pretty Poinsettias and Spring Blooms. I saw this beautiful card by Dawn Woleslagle, the owner of WPlus9, and knew I had to make it. I love non-traditional holiday colors. I love non-traditional everything. The link above will take you to Dawn’s card and she shares a video with us too!
The Spring Blooms stamp set had the perfect leafy layering image that I stamped in black ink. Next came the white heat embossed flowers from Pretty Poinsettias. I went back to Spring Blooms and did a little bit of stamp surgery for my gold embossed clusters. My sentiment is from Hand Lettered Holiday that was heat set with white embossing powder.
There was a lot of drying time between layers and this one took a little patience, but it really paid off. The base of my card is Black Licorice by MFT Stamps. I layered on my Dazzling Diamonds Glitter card stock by Stampin’ Up! The image panel card stock is Steel Grey by MFT Stamps. I love how the colors compliment each other. Sometimes you forget that making a beautiful card starts with a hand-stamped image panel that you created making your own patterned paper.
As you can see above, once again, I used black fun foam for my dimension. I think white fun foam would stick out like a sore thumb and the black flows so cohesively with the design. Colored fun foam is not expensive at all and it comes in a multi-colored package too.
