Good morning! Here is a card that I made for my design team work at the Clean and Simple Stamping – Fall to Layout challenge blog (FTL169). There's some details on this card that the camera didn't pick up that I'd like to bring to your attention that really give the card a little something that it needed. I also have another card that I made for this challenge with a fabulous tropical spin to share with you later.
For a clean and simple card, I managed to use 3 stamp sets! The sketch on the blog shows a Christmas tree that I just know I had the exact shape of and after spending an hour looking through what seemed like, and probably was, hundreds of stamps, I couldn't find it. I think the stamp I was after is from an older Stampin' Up! set and I'd be very grateful to anybody who could help me out with this because it is driving me a bit nuts not knowing what it is! The Christmas tree image that I finally settled on was the last one (of course) that I saw from Close to My Heart that's part of their Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge package that I {heart}!
I also have my last 12 Days of Christmas 2011 Series project to share with you as well by the end of the week so I can get this over with. I don't think I'll be doing another series until I can get this video thing down so that they look more professional and are about 90% shorter in time, so I'll be taking some classes. I really do apologize for that and thank you for your time, which I know is valuable and that does need to be respected.
AND, while checking out Cath Edvalson's Moxie Fab World, who is the Trends Editor for Paper Crafts Magazine, I came across her Tuesday Trigger of Deck the Halls of an inspiration picture that this card is perfect for.
So, without further ado, here is my card! What I wanted to bring to your attention that's hard to tell in the photographs is the tone-on-tone stamping and the silver glitter pen that I used for the swirls towards the bottom of the Christmas tree. I also ink distressed around the edges of the Christmas tree image and the Aqua Mist card stock to soften it up a bit. I thought that it was rather fun doing a pastel Christmas card and something different.
Thank you so much for visiting me today and may God bless you.
1. Cut Aqua Mist card stock to A2 tent and ink distress the edges using Fresh Snow ink.
That spring moss ink and the rose pearls are so pretty together!! Sweet card, Cindy!! Clean and simple, I love it!!
A very pretty card, Cindy! That medallion is really gorgeous, and the pearls are just the perfect final touch! Thanks very much for the inspiration! 🙂
love this….. it's perfect in every way!
Lovely card Cindy – I have a tree stamp from the SU Lovely as a Tree set that is a similar shape… if that helps.
Blessings
Maxine
