Final Embellishments? Good Morning Magnolia Birthday Card

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a Good Morning Magnolia birthday card that I need your help in completing.

I am not sure how to finish this one. The twine, ribbon or flower stamen is not adhered to the card. The sequins are secured and I leave the stamen on with all of the cards. How do you think I should finish this? Black and white twine or Crushed Curry?

The card above has the Crushed Curry stamen with black and white twine, which was my first thought and should probably stick with. You know how the saying goes. The black and white twine is a staple item that I’ve kept throughout the years. I appreciate how the Crushed Curry element with the Basic Gray sentiment enhance this project.

There’s some great dimension to this card with the bottom Soft Sea Foam panel on Black Stampin’ Dimensionals along with the leaves on the sentiment panel. I brought in Coastal Cabana with a piece of DSP from Follow Your Art that I adhered to the Soft Sea Foam panel, giving the illusion that it’s a separate layer. This is a great way of shopping your stash to find coordinating colors where sometimes you forget to look. The top right Whisper White image/sentiment panel was stamped with the small magnolia from Good Morning Magnolia in Memento Tuxedo Black and angled down. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray. The large magnolia image was stamped onto Soft Sea Foam (leaves) and Coastal Cabana (magnolia) with their coordinating ink colors and die-cut. I fussy cut part of the leaves since it is one large die-cut and the Coastal Cabana magnolia. The measurements for the panels are below.

The card above uses the Metallic Baker’s Twine & Sequins Combo Pack from Sale-A-Bration. The twine is not formally tied or anything. It’s a messy wrap to get a visual.

The last sample uses Crushed Curry Seam Binding from the fall Paper Pumpkin Kit last year, but we also have this item in the Annual Catalog with a 1/8″ difference in the width of the ribbon. The sequins are also a leftover from a Paper Pumpkin Kit. Let me know what you think!

Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Have a great day and God bless.

  1. The b&w twine is my preference! To me, there is not enough of the Crushed Curry on the card in order to tie that in, so I think the b&w embellishment is better. (My 2 cents!).
