Waves of the Ocean Suite Collection, Timeless Tropical + a Little Bit About My Cottage

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a card created with Waves of the Ocean Suite Collection and Timeless Tropical with its coordinating dies of In The Tropics.

Both of our featured stamp sets today are rubber and I direct colored onto the images with Stampin’ Write Markers.

There’s bold … and then there’s bold. When I want to dial it down a little, I soften it up by rounding the corners and using lighter colors everywhere else … much like I I do with my cottage.

I have the neutral farmhouse going on inside my little 907 sf cottage, but had to spice it up to reflect me. I brought in subtle silver metallics and industrial accents that are distinctly masculine while NOT having my walls the usual gray, slate, white, etc. I used extreme light paint colors of blue and sage that’s incredibly enchanting.

It works for me because I do have to keep a flow throughout 907 sf with subtle bursts of color and zero clutter.

I am on the hunt for a towel rail that’s like the shelf anchors.

I have a picture of my old farmhouse in upstate NY on the shelf with a pineapple, which is the symbol for southern hospitality, since I am below the Mason-Dixon Line.

Back to today’s card, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.

I started out with an A2 top-folding Crumb Cake card base. I cut a piece of Balmy Blue and white striped DSP from You’re a Peach to 4-1/4 x 2-1/2 that I layered on with Seal. I then rounded the lower corners of the card base.

I cut a piece of Waves of the Ocean DSP to 4 x 5-1/5 and corner rounded the bottom edges. I die-cut a Night of Navy Blue Foils with the large wave and trimmed the right side to 4″. I adhered the wave with liquid adhesive using little dots. You can use our Adhesive Sheets to adhere as well.

I stamped the sentiment and birds with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

For the palm tree in Timeless Tropical, I direct colored a Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Write Marker to the trunks of the palms and laid down the image.

For the palms, they were colored with Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Markers then cut from its coordinating In the Tropics Die.

For final assembly of the card. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the image panel and to the back of the palm trees for dimension.

For the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment at the center top in Memento Tuxedo Black and the wave image in Pacific Point that was adhered to the card base with Seal.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
