Christmas Surprise ~ Bring Back Beautiful Challenge 16

Good morning and welcome to this month's Bring Back Beautiful Challenge brought to you by Flourishes Stamps. Our theme this month is the beauty of a fold. I decided to use the Criss Cross Card Fold for my project. I used two stamp sets on my card of Seasonal Wreaths from a previous release, and the brand new A Season of Celebrations.

There's a lot of shine and bling on this card, although it's hard to tell in the pictures. I sprayed the wreath image with glimmer mist after I colored it with Copic markers and then used some good ol' fashioned Twinkling H20s for additional shimmer and contrast. The blue in the wreath accentuates the blue in my designer paper quite nicely. This was also the first time I had ever used Versafine Black Onyx and it really does pick up those very fine details on solid images. As this has to be heat set in order not to smear, I sprinkled clear embossing powder over my image on the pullout tab and heat embossed it which also gives it a little shine. I used a bold Real Red ink for my sentiment. There's yet more glam with my glimmer brads on the pullout tab and in the center of my bow. Designer paper is not as thick as regular card stock so I punched out my designer paper and a piece of black card stock using the same punch and adhered the designer paper to the black card stock for more stability.

We hope that you'll join us today for our challenge. You have until the end of Novemberto link your challenge card to the Flourishes Blog. When uploading your card to online galleries, please use the keyword BBB16. At the end of each month, the design team chooses our favorite cards and awards with recipients with a True Beauty Blog Badge that will be announced for our next challenge on December 5.

Mona Pendleton is still with Flourishes but just switched with Betty for the Timeless Tuesday challenge. Thank you so much for visiting me today and God bless you.
