CAS Paint Swatch Halloween Card

Clean & Simple Tuesday

Hello there and welcome to the Cindy B Designs Clean and Simple Tuesday!

This week I have for you this very cool Halloween card that I think is so cool. The paint swatch patterned paper made it. There’s sentiments towards the right side of the card on all 5 paint swatches so I did not have to stamp anything. I used 2 die-cuts from Memory Box cut from black glitter card stock of the web and spider.

I started out with an A2 side-folding Gravel Gray card base by MFT Stamps. I pulled out my Frightful paint swatch patterned paper from My Mind’s Eye and positioned it so I could get the visual of the right side sentiments and die-cut for my stitch detail with MFT Stamps Blueprints 25, which has an A2 size stitch frame. I then found an old stash of Stampin’ Up! Black Glitter cards stock and cut 2 images from Memory Box Dies of Creepy Web and Creepy Spider. I adhered it all to the base of my card and that was pretty much it. For the inside of the card, I die-cut a piece of Insulation Pink card stock by MFT Stamps from Blueprints 15 and adhered it to the inside. It was a good match for the 2nd swatch.

One thing I did differently with this card that I really didn’t like at all and will not do again is that I used liquid adhesive to adhere my patterned paper to my card base. Either I overloaded it, which is entirely possible, or I don’t know, but it made the card very stiff and hard to manipulate straight. I ended up grabbing a large acrylic block, setting it on top of the card and leaving it overnight. It’s still kind of bowed in the middle and pops up. It stands up just fine, but it’s warpy. Such a shame for this card that looks very retro hip and funky.

I have a great Christmas shaker ornament gift tag video for you, but I think that I accidentally wiped out the edited version yesterday. I don’t think it will hurt me to make a couple more – wink…

I also have some more For Sale box videos coming up as well. I’m going through my Tim Holtz Distress products.

Thank you so very much for stopping by today to visit me. Have a great day and God bless.
