Bloom in 3D

Today's Fun on Friday Challenge 84 at Christian Paper Crafts is to use unused colors. I used Regal Rose by Stampin' Up! That's a color that I'm definitely uncomfortable with and use it rarely – like this is maybe my third time. I paired it up with Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, and Daffodil Delight and it definitely pops (that's so HGTV sounding) and compliments the card as it's the same color that I used for the center of my flower. To soften up the Regal Rose sentiment panel a little bit, I ink distressed the edges with Papertrey Ink Fresh Snow and then sprayed Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pearl so that it would blend with the image panel. What do you think? Thank you so much for stopping by today and be sure to join us in our challenge! God bless and have a spirit filled day.

Technique: Dry embossing, ink distressing, watercoloring, die-cutting, punching

1.  Using the largest Spellbinders Labels 10 Nestabilities die-cut, cut a piece of Soft Suede card stock leaving about 1/4" of the top below the die-cut. Dry emboss the front of the card only with a dry embossing folder.
2.  Die-cut and dry emboss two more pieces of card stock of Pear Pizzazz and watercolor paper, each one size down from the largest die-cut mentioned above. Dry emboss the light green card stock only.
3.  Stamp image using StazOn Jet Black ink onto the watercolor paper. Color in with markers and watercolor. Stamp the flower part of the image again onto watercolor paper and color in with markers and watercolor only the center of the flower. Spray with glimmer mist and let dry, cut out, and adhere to the main flower image with foam dots.
4.  Spray the image panel with glimmer mist and let dry.
5.  Stamp sentiment using Memento Tuxedo Black onto Regal Rose card stock. Lightly ink distress the edges with Papertrey Ink Fresh Snow and then punch out using a wide oval punch. Spray glimmer mist onto the sentiment panel and let dry. Then adhere the sentiment panel to the bottom of the image panel with foam dots.
6.  Punch holes in the curves of the image panel and the dry embossed light green panel and place brads as shown.
7.  Place foam dots on the back of the image panel and adhere to the light green panel.
8.  Place foam dots on the back of the light green panel and adhere to the card base.
