Birds & Branches Clean and Simple Masking Project

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a very clean and simple project created using a mask with the Birds & Branches Bundle + Parcels & Petals.

I had forgotten how simple masking is and the beautiful results achieved. My color palette can be used for a feminine or masculine card with the sentiment easily being switched out for what you need. This is a timeless classic for all seasons.

I’m writing this post up on Friday, September 18 and like to do my videos on Wednesday-Thursday to upload to You Tube for our Saturday video. If you would like me to make a masking technique video, please let me know at your earliest convenience by leaving a comment, text or email.

Your shopping list and measurements are below.

HELPFUL HINTS:

  1. I used masking paper that I picked up from a chain craft store for my circular design on the card front from Parcels & Petals; but if you cut a piece of copy paper to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2, die-cut in your layering circle, and secure it to the card front to stamp in the design, you’re good. I do recommend using a piece of 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 vellum paper to practice stamp this image, and you can also see through it to make sure that you are lined up, so that it’s cohesive and straight. There was some eyeball and winging it. However, I can tell you that there’s about about 7/8″ to move your cardstock in the Stamparatus to get the design below. In total, this image was stamped 3x in full strength Pool Party and was set up centered on the card front.
  2. Adhere a 2-1/4″ square piece of an Adhesive Sheet to the back of Basic Black cardstock and then die-cut the left beak facing detailed bird out from the Birds & More die-cuts. You want to be sure to keep the detail in the bird die-cut to inlay onto the bird.
  3. I colored 1 medium Pearl with the Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blend Marker and used that for the eye of the bird. I colored in 1 large Rhinestone and 1 medium Rhinestone with same marker as above to embellish.

To spice this up a bit, think about using one of our embossing folders on the Pool Party cardstock, adhering the bird with  Stampin’ Dimensional, and changing out the color palette for any season or occasion. That is what I love about the beauty and coordination of our products.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Have a great day and God bless.
