Hello there! Today I have a no stamping card. This can be so easy crazy mass produced and you could make 50 of these in an afternoon. It’s amazing what you can do with die-cuts alone. I love to cut the same die several times, as I did on this card, and stack them up on top of each other for fabulous dimension, as y’all know how much I LOVE my dimension on my projects.
With this card, I had no MOJO and actually CASED the very first card I made over a decade ago…and I’m pretty sure the Crate Paper Patterned Paper of Kiss Kiss is just as old. I will be holding a tremendous de-stash of my patterned paper too, all from your favorite companies. By the end of this year, I will be an official minimalist. The more stuff I unload, the more free I feel. It’s actually a cleansing process inside and out; like mentally you are clean and not bogged down with stuff and physically, you have less stuff to deal with and clean. I love it!
This card was so very easy to make; however, I grabbed supplies from several different stamp companies to make this happen. I have been loving mixing and matching various products and manufacturers to stretch my stamps and die-cuts. We all should do that. It just takes a little imagination and a look at the price tag of what you think you “need.”
For this card, it was only a few easy steps. It always takes more time to prepare to make a card than it does actually making the card.
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Gina K Designs Heavyweight Ivory Cardstock base, A2 side folding.
- Cut a piece of any patterned paper that you like to 3-1/2 x 5-1/2. I used Crate Paper Kiss Kiss.
- Cut 1/8″ thin strips of the solid color card stock that you choose to use for your main die-cut images. I used GKD Heavyweight Charcoal Brown Cardstock, stacked them x4 and colored the top with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen. Adhere the floral pattern to the middle of the card and add your thin strips of CS along the edges.
- Die-cut 4 hearts and 4 sentiments from GKD Charcoal Brown CS. Layer them upon each other using Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. Adhere to card and place a large, heavy acrylic stamping block on the top to set the liquid adhesive. Add a few layers of Clear Glitter Wink of Stella Pen.
- Die-cut Papertrey Ink, or anything that you have similar to a large leaf image, from vellum paper, not cardstock. There is a 20 lb difference. Or just use what you want. It’s your card. Use what you have in your stash to work for you. Nothing special on this card, but it’s very pretty, can be easily mass produced and you can use any type of patterned paper that you want.
I kept my card flat for easy mailing and it still looks very lovely. Your recipient would love to receive this card as is or embellished with your favorite mediums. The possibilities are endless and it’s all about you and your choices. I’m just here to inspire. I forgot to put sequins or any kind of Nuvo drops on my card and it still looks beautiful. It really takes skill to pull off a clean and simple card, believe it or not, and an understanding of the concept – which, again, is that ONE WOW factor. That’s it. In this card, I’m using my vellum as the WOW. It’s unexpected and that’s also the key. Something non-traditional that even the most experienced crafter would be wondering, “Why didn’t I think of that?!” The CAS artist does.
