November 2012 Creative Crew Design Team Work for Splitcoast Stampers

Hi friends. Welcome to the Splitcoast Stampers Creative Crew Design Team November 2012 projects! I will have 3 projects to share with you today to continue to scroll down so that you can see all of my projects.

Our first assignment is our designer series paper/color focus where our colors were based off of The Festival of Prints stack in the Holiday Catalog. The colors are Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Crumb Cake, Lucky Limeade and Very Vanilla.

The inspiration for my card came from Bridget Finlay's Poinsettia Tag. The  moment I saw this card, I knew I had to CASE it. I changed the colors of my banners, seam binding, ink, ribbon, used twine and rhinestones. I kept her sketch and tag; however, I used a different image inside the tag and sentiment so it's a Stampin' Up! Mostly (SUM) card. All products used on this card are Stampin' Up! products except for the tag, tag die-cut, images inside the tag, snowflake, snowflake die-cut (Verve Stamps), and twine (Papertrey Ink).

For my Baja Breeze Seam Binding, I sprayed Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz on it, crinkled it up and heat set it with my heat tool. I then straightened it out, punched a hole at the top of my tag using my Crop-A-Dile, thread the seam binding through and tied it with the twine inserting a large rhinestone in the middle. There are 2 lengths of seam binding so at the top of the tag, you see four shimmery tails. I alternated punching the ends of my banners with a 1" Square and the Postage Stamp punches.

I really hope that you enjoy this card and don't forget to see my other three projects below and to see what the rest of the design team created for you as well.

My second card focuses on Everything that Sparkles, loaded with glam and bling, etc. I have a card in CARDS Magazine this month that was my inspiration for this card as they are very similar. Believe it or not, this card can be easily mass produced since the Big Shot can cut through 7 layers of paper at one time. Since the glimmer paper is thicker, you will want to run only a couple of pieces through at a time and maybe even use a metal shim for a clean, crisp cut. I did not use one and my letters popped out just fine. Here is my glam card for you!

My last card for you is a gift holder. I went way back to Technique Lover's Challenge 196 (TLC196) in 2008! I had made this gift card holder and here is the inside of it. I thought a few updates were in order so I CASEd myself. For the inside, I used the Word Window punch twice to keep the roundness but then snipped the edges a bit to clean it up. I really like the sweater trim with this. It makes it so warm! Sweater trim is a bit tricky to keep down since it is fabric so I use a hot glue gun. Thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today and I hope that you enjoy this. It's so easy to make and how you can decorate it make the possibilities endless AND it can be used for any occasion.
