Welcoming Window Bundle Mother’s Day Card with Machine Stitching

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for a Mother’s Day card created with the Welcoming Window Bundle. You only have a few more days left to pick up this carryover item from the Spring Catalog at the 10% bundle price.

There is a tremendous amount of texture and dimension on this project, and I am going to walk you through my creative process.

I started out with an A2 top-folding 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 So Saffron card base. I cut a piece of Basic White Regular to 4-1/8 x 5-3/8 for the image panel. I stamped off Smoky Slate x1 and then stamped it onto the image panel in a zigzag pattern and then ran it through the Brick & Mortar EF.

The Smoky Slate sentiment panel was cut to 2-3/4 x 1. I stamped our sentiment onto this CS with Versamark and heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I punched the right side of the sentiment with the Banners Pick a Punch and adhered this to the image panel with a bit of Seal in the middle. I ran this over to my sewing machine to zigzag stitch adhere to the image panel. I then took the window die-cut and ran this through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine towards the right of the image panel, making sure that I left enough space on the right to adhere the shutter. I adhered a piece of 2 x 3 Basic White Regular with scotch tape behind the window cut and then inlaid the frame die-cut to the image panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The shutter images were stamped in Pool Party and die-cut.

The flower pot and ledge were stamped in Smoky Slate and die-cut.

The florals were stamped in Pale Papaya and Soft Sea Foam, and die-cut. Pale Papaya is a fabulous new In Color for 2021 – 2023 and has quickly replaced my favorite of Petal Pink.

Multidimensional adhering images and sentiment affords you a completely different eye-catching element.

Once the above images were stamped and cut, I adhered them down in the following order:

  1. The top left floral bunch was adhered with liquid adhesive centered around the corner of the frame.
  2. I laid down a thin 1/8″ strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive that I fussy cut on the inside of the shutters with the “bones” of Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals at the outside center.
  3. The Basic Gray window ledge was adhered with liquid adhesive.
  4. The right side flower pot and floral images were adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Three Matte Black Dots were scattered about the card to accent. Welcoming Window is a fantastic bundle to work with that has endless creative possibilities. I am pleased this carried over from the Spring Catalog, as I’m looking forward to pulling this bundle out for holidays.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
