Video Watercoloring Cowboy Boots With Stampin’ Up! Country Livin’ + Paper Craft Crew Mid-Week Inspiration

Hello there! First, I would like to extend my prayers to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Samaritan’s Purse is an excellent organization to make a donation to. You can check online various charities of how much actually goes to charity and compare that to administrative costs. That is how I pick how to donate.

Today I have a video for you that I put up just the watercolored picture on a private Stampin’ Up! FB Group Page that went over very well with my colleagues who requested a video. Fortunately, this was one of those things where you just turn your camera on and start coloring so I had video for it about 2 manicures ago that I finally got edited and uploaded. Here is my card.

I got mud on the right boot and this almost went into the trash. You won’t believe the colors that rescued me. Blew me away and it worked perfectly. It’s exactly what this card needed. I am not crazy about the Crushed Curry mat I used for my image panel and fully intend on swapping that out for Crumb Cake. I feel it detracts from my boots and frankly, I’m pretty proud of myself for pulling this off. It’s very raw and organic and I love it. I might have a knack for that so I will be experimenting more with this. Check it out!

I just love this! I stamped the image with Black Archival Ink and then heat embossed with with clear embossing powder. This is a great technique for when you have small spaces as the heat embossing creates a well of sorts to hold your desired watercolor(s) in the place(s) that you want. I do like the resist that heat embossing did for my boots. It helped my image to keep its detail. Up close and personal, you can see the rivets in the boots and the buckle.

I love the new Copper Trim Ribbon. It’s unusually cool in that it’s very soft and pliable and you can do anything with it, but it also has this almost wire feel to it where you can also pull it apart as above that fits this masculine card perfectly. You will see a few frames in the video as I’m tying the knot, tried to turn it into a bow for some reason on a masculine card and then ended up knotting it. That is edited out. I will admit I hacked up this video something awful. It was 38 minutes with some dead time in there as I was thinking and getting up and down, but I loved how much I sped it up and played music with no talking. Let me know what you think because I could really get used to this and of course, prefer the shorter length. There is some talking, but more music and you can clearly see what I’m going that doesn’t need an explanation.

I hope you enjoy the video!

The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso from the Feather Together stamp set. It was perfect for this card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today to visit me. Don’t forget to head on over to the Paper Craft Crew for our Back to School theme 2-week challenge. We would love to see your beautiful work and thank you so much for your support. God bless and have a great day.
