Sweet Treats Fall Baskets

Last night I had 10 teenage girls stay the night. This morning I have a huge mess to clean up. I will never know how they can consume so much junk food and not wake up 10 pounds heavier! This was for a church function called Discipleship Now. Before we came here, we had this mesmerizing speaker who had the entire New Testament memorized and spends no less than 5 hours a day in Bible study. He's truly a man after God's own heart! For one man to keep 100 kids completely silent for an hour and a half is definitely by the Holy Spirit alone. I looked around while Bob was talking and all eyes were glued on him and you could have heard a pin drop. I learned a lot and I know the girls did too. After we left church, we came to my house, got into our jammies and broke out the junk food. Then we had our own Bible study. I now love these girls like they were my own. I spoke to these girls about purity. They were some hurting young ladies in which some of them were looking for love in all the wrong places to fill that void in their hearts that only Jesus can fill. I had a lot to share with them and I pray that I was effective in reaching them. I've prayed for weeks about this event and that God would just speak through me and he did.

I think the saddest and most personally angering fact to me was that these women have no real Godly man in their life, including their own father. They don't know what to look for in a husband because the example has never been set for them by their father on how a Godly man should act and treat their wife. This also impacts the boys as well and out comes another generation of weakness. There's no example for them either. Honestly, it makes me want to scream. I believe that's an epidemic problem in America and the reason behind the fall of our country. Where are the Godly men? They are out there, but there's too few of them.

I know that men do not read this blog, but I want to tell you to step up to plate, take the rightful place in your home as the spiritual head of the household and stop dropping the ball. Start taking your role as a husband and father seriously and be what God has called you to be and keep the covenant that you made to your wife with God as your witness. Women are not designed to be mother, father, and the spiritual head of our household and unfortunately, about 98% of us are forced into that position, and we can never live up to it and our children blame us in the long run because we're the mom and we're supposed to make everything magically okay and we can't do it! I know I'm tired and worn out, and so the kids don't get the best of me because I'm too busy doing your job!. Men need to start being a man. Not secular society's definition of a man, but God's definition of a man. If you don't know what that is, open up your Bible because it's there in black and white, starting with Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27, and Ephesians 5:25-27. Relativism is unacceptable, cowardly and pathetic excuses are unacceptable, and you're the only one who believes them. Start taking responsibility for your family. Teach your children the Bible, Deuteronomy 11:19. Our country and families desperately need more REAL MEN! 2 Chronicles 7:14 doesn't just apply to our nation as a whole, it applies to you individually. It applies to all of us individually. Break down that verse word by word because there's a lot of meat there to chew on for the rest of your life. Are you up for it?

I made these adorable little candy baskets for the girls to take home and would like to share them with you. I put tan raffia inside the box and fall colored M&M candy. They loved them! I pray that you have a very blessed weekend and for my Today's Treasure, the verses are listed above.
