SUOC 263: Christmas, Coloring on Designer Series Paper + 1-Day Only 10% Off Sale

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Stampin’ Up! Only Challenges, where we are focusing on Christmas for the next month, until December 21. The theme will be changed out on December 22 to a Winter challenge. We hope that you join us. We know how busy it can be around the holidays for you.

I would also like to share with you our 1-day ONLY 10% off over 600+ Annual Catalog & Idea Book products. Now is the time to stock your stash! I know I’m personally taking advantage of the Stampin’ Blends. CLICK TO SHOP.

I’m using a long forgotten technique of altering your Designer Series Paper by coloring on it. Real Red is in the Poinsettia Place Suite, but not where on the DSP that I wanted it. In this card, the baby branch offshoots are Bumblebee. I used my Dark Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker to color it in. It’s really that easy. You can also use a Stampin’ Write Marker, but I would watch for a bleed on the DSP. Alcohol markers are easier to control because of their properties.

I incorporated a Paper Pumpkin sentiment, that was already die-cut, metallic embossed, adhesive on the back for me and on foam, as part of the when we had a normal life February 2020 kit of Lovely Day.

I started with an A2 top-folding 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 Soft Suede card base. I cut a piece of the incredibly beautiful Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper with a flower pattern to 4-1/4 x 5-1/2 and colored in the baby branch offshoots in with my Real Red Dark Stampin’ Blend. This was adhered to the front of the Soft Suede card base with Seal. I used the 2nd largest scallop die-cut frame from Stitched So Sweetly to die-cut a piece of Gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock that I adhered with Seal to the center of the card base.

The poinsettia was stamped in Versamark, covered with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, heat set, and die-cut with the coordinating dies. The poinsettia was adhered to the top center of the metallic card stock with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Celebrate sentiment was placed at the bottom center of the card base.

This such a simple card to create that isn’t too busy, you put your own brand on it, and shopped your stash. I also got my texture and dimension fix, too.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit. Have a great day and God bless.
