Hello there friends and fans of the Paper Craft Crew! Thank you so much for stopping by today. I have what I consider to be an extremely non-traditional and a bit on the weird side Valentine’s Day card. It’s one of those I have this great idea in my mind cards, pull it together, and you’re left shaking your head. That would be this card. I really wanted to do something a little non-traditional, not out in left field.
Today’s card uses a fun new stamp set in the Occasions Catalog of Perfect Mix. It’s a puny baking set that you can use to make tags, bags, cards and just about anything else. I love how large the images are to color and easy to fussy cut out.
The Perfect Mix images were colored a few months ago during the pre-order that demonstrators can make and it was my first time playing with the new Watercolor Pencils. I did not use anything special, like a Blender Pen or watercoloring. I just did straight coloring onto Shimmery White cardstock and some shading. The new watercolor pencils colors are out of the Brights Collection with 4 neutrals for a total of 13 pencils. They are great too. I didn’t have a difficult time working with them at all. These colors were difficult to photograph with the weather that we’ve had lately and no amount of monkeying around with the settings could really help this card. My DSP is from A Little Foxy and the washi tape is from the Urban Underground Suite. My Whisper White oval image panel was dry embossed using the Softly Falling EF. I did a significant amount of stamp surgery on the sentiment to get it onto the Daffodil Delight cardstock. To color the images, it was straight to paper. For my embellishments, I used the Brights Collection Enamel Dots. After I fussy cut out my images, I like to take a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to outline the edges as it gets rid of the ugly white lines and polishes up the image quite a bit, as well as having the extra added benefit of covering up cutting mistakes.
