Hello there! It’s amazing what you can do with 2 colors, water, and open line art.
Floral Essence is a fantastic new product suite with incredibly rich colors in the DSP. You’re only seeing a few of the images above and no DSP. This one is fun to color. The stem, leaves, and flower are all separate images waiting for your unique design.
I took 2 leaf images, a stem, and the large line art flower from Floral Essence and stamped them out on watercolor paper with Versamark after I used the Embossy Buddy. I heat embossed the images separately, i.e., flowers, leaves, stems, in groups so I could see what I’m doing as Versamark is clear. The order would be applying an Adhesive-Backed Sheet to a 4 x 5-1/4 piece of watercolor paper, stamp images in Versamark, apply powder, heat emboss.
How I achieved the hues using Merry Merlot for the flowers and Mossy Meadow for the leaves and stems, was the reinker and an AquaPainter, and it can be messy, but you can really achieve vibrancy with pure color. I simply layered the color on top of itself. You’re always rinsing out the brush, pulling color off the image with a paper towel, and making it work. It’s a very easy technique and there’s no right or wrong … unless you get mud, and no explanation is needed there, right? There’s some patience involved if you choose to let the color dry on its own between applications, which I generally do. I’ve found that you get more in-depth color results with less pillage to the watercolor paper.
I adhered the image panel to a Mossy Meadow card base. I splattered on Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint drops and added clear sequins with scattered Gold Metallic Pearls. The sentiment was gold heat embossed onto a piece of Crumb Cake and popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.
