Hello there! Today I have a fabulous inlay technique card for you using MFT Stamps! Unfortunately, every single one of the 4 stamp sets that I used of 3 MFT and 1 Stampin’ Up!, are retired now and no longer available. This also means to watch for a huge My Favorite Things Stamps de-stash in the very near future…I would say within the next week. I need to check to see what’s retired for MFT Stamps. All retired Stampin’ Up! sets, bundles, dies, card stock, everything, is up for sale, and I’m going back years with these products, especially Stampin’ Up!
I’m so big on shopping your stash that I almost don’t want to get rid of old, retired products as they are still perfectly fine to use, but the industry has changed so much and at an astounding pace that we’re using artist-grade everything, incorporating mixed media, foiling, the crazy awesome world of distress and so much you name it. You want to keep up and a roof over your head; HOWEVER, I have noticed a cycle within the past 3 or so months where a lot of old is being made new again with the more established stamp companies. Very interesting. I encourage you to really know what you have to avoid impulse buying and do a good purge a few times a year. I think you’ll be very surprised at how many duplicates you have. Stay organized and minimalize. I’ve been following those self-imposed rules lately and it works. I’m doing a few videos a week and my overall attitude has changed of not being very overwhelmed with so much stuff. It’s going to happen after a few decades, moves, insert whatever. You feel like you’re in bondage to stuff and it’s not a good feeling.
Here is my card! I love the way that it turned out. It’s barely mixed media, but I was happy that I didn’t end up with mud. She’s very unique and the white heat embossing hits the spot with the image that I chose. I give a lot of tips in my video, which also accounts for the length.
I’ve made tremendous changes to my video process lately of speeding the process up, voiceovers, clean transitions and I’m working on adding music and other changes for a more professional looking work product. I will never stop teaching what I know rather than just making a card for you. It’s about sharing what we know with others and I am a teacher at heart. Always have been. That is not going to change. My customers, clients and followers always get my best work.
The vibrant distress colors on the image panel are amazing! I was so pleased that it all turned out okay. I hope that you enjoy the video below. I tried something new with the voiceover to reduce background noise…let’s just say I won’t be doing that again, but you’ll be okay. Promise.
