FS244 ~ Praying For You

Oh my what a whirlwind week this was! I flew to KY on Sunday, October 2 and it's an all day flight and drive if you fly into Nashville, which I had to do this time. It's a 7-hour flight no matter what but the 3-hour drive from Nashville to Paducah KY is what hurts, especially knowing you've got 3 kids waiting for you that I haven't seen in 5 weeks. I went 85-90 the entire drive and didn't see one trooper, thank God, and made it there in record time of a little less than 2 hours. Monday was a little chill out day. We went to the mall and hung out. Tuesday we were back on the road again driving to Pittsburg, Kansas, which is another 7-hour drive to see my beloved Auntie and Uncle. We spent as much time together as we could and we're back on the road at 5 p.m. on Thursday and didn't get in until 2 a.m. Friday, and those last 2 hours were really hard on me because I was so tired. We all just dropped dead at the nearest hotel in town. Then had to return a friend's rental car at 8 a.m. – ugh, on 6 hours of sleep and this was Friday morning. We got Bailey all packed up and decided to drive down to Nashville Friday night for a 6 a.m. flight out Saturday morning. My baggage was 14 pounds overweight because I was bringing home those two 12-packs of Diet Code Red Mountain Dew. Now that I look back, we should have put them in Bailey's backpack and carried them on and her stuff in my suitcase to save the overweight luggage outrageous cost which is more than the Mountain Dew itself. That would have been the smart thing to do but we were exhausted. Oh well, what's done is done. We had a 50-minute layover in Dallas, which is American Airlines hub, so we had to do the O'Hare Sprint in Dallas and our seats? Row 29. I really hate riding in the back of the plane for 2 reasons; you feel every single bump and it takes what seems like forever to get off of the plane for those who have to bring their entire closet on board, which is really a sore spot with me bad. I flew out alone but flew back with my little princess Bailey! The kids are coming home where they belong! Then we got in an hour late because we had to zigzag all over the place due to storms and only having an altitude of 30,000 feet when we should have been at 39,000 feet. I know this kind of stuff because daddy worked at TWA for 35 years and he taught me a lot and I've been flying all of my life and have had the opportunity to travel a lot to many places that I wouldn't have had otherwise. So we get into San Francisco close to noon, had the hour drive home, and pretty much just dropped dead. I was so exhausted that I actually slept on the plane for 30 or so minutes and I can't sleep on planes or in cars. It was a nonstop week. Then I had do so my Featured Stamper Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers and get that up. I normally put it up at 10 p.m. EST on Saturday evenings, which is 7 p.m. PST, my time, so it's perfect. It went up at 5:30 p.m. or else I wouldn't have made it as I went to bed at 7:30 p.m. got just got up at 6 a.m. Home, in my own bed, 11 hours of sleep, coffee from my Keurig, and my little girl asleep in her own bed  = bliss. I wanted to use Flourishes Stamps because our Featured Stamper 244 is Julie Koerber aka Out to Impress and she is on the Flourishes Design Team; BUT that meant serious coloring because Flourishes Stamps are known for their coloring and timeless classics. I am on the Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful Design Team and Julie and I started this challenge together last October and we just had our 1-year anniversary! I knew I had to get something on paper fast that would look decent so I chose Julie's Christmas Doves card and came up with my Praying for You card. Our blue colors are the same as is the little bling that we used and similar background shapes. Everything else is different where I added in some lime green. We also both sewed on our cards. I did a lot of die-cutting and solid image stamping to keep the card under 10 minutes. I did color on my flower image using markers to differentiate the stem from the iris.

This card also qualifies for Mark's Finest Stamps Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge 76 to use no designer paper.

I hope that you like this card and thank you so much for stopping by to visit me today. I hope that you see God's blessings in your life today like I have this week.
