Handmade Holidays: Peaceful Deer + Painted Poppies

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for another project for my Handmade Holiday Series. Today’s card was created with the Peaceful Deer Bundle and Painted Poppies stamp set and the coordinating Painted Labels Dies, with a lot of texture and dimension + various techniques.

I colored on Crumb Cake card stock with our Stampin’ Blends and Faux Linen Ribbon with white heat embossing for this project.

Despite the flower, I think this is a great masculine card.

Be sure to hold onto your Peaceful Deer Bundle, as this will be carrying over!

Tomorrow, I will upload the list of products that are carrying over. A lot of my favorite embellishments have carried over. Also, if you own the Sheep stamp set and dies, I would hold onto that as well. Remember Hey, Chick and Birthday Chick? I wouldn’t be surprised to see this bundle come back around.

As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.

I started out with an A2 Crumb Cake card base and layered on a piece of Subtles DSP in Mossy Meadow. I cut the largest Stitched Rectangle Die for my image and sentiment panel from Basic White Regular CS. I stamped the sentiments at the top of the image panel in Memento Tuxedo Black. I have been doing a lot of double and triple sentiments lately, and it’s okay to do that. I do wish I had stamped a sentiment at the top and bottom of the image panel, but this turned out just fine. The poppy helps to ground the image circle.

I then colored a length of our fabulous to work with Faux Linen Ribbon with a Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend Marker. I wrapped this around the center of the card and taped the ends to the back of the panel. I add the cheater’s knot after I adhered the image circle and images. This panel was adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the deer with Poppy Parade ink onto a piece of Crumb Cake CS and punched it out, adding Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back.

I cut the largest circle from Layering Circles from the Buffalo Plaid pattern from Peaceful Place DSP. I added one of our Adhesive Sheets to a piece of Vellum CS and cut another circle to layer on top of the Buffalo Plaid. You can really see this in person. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the image circle and adhered in the center of the card.

I stamped the poppy and leaves onto Crumb Cake CS with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white powder. The flower was colored with a Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends Marker with the leaves colored Light Mossy Meadow, then cut from the coordinating Painted Labels Dies. You definitely want to use the blunt end of the Stampin’ Blends Markers coloring in your images. If you smear onto the white embossed lines, simply use our Color Lifter Marker to pull it off.

The flower and leaves were adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals at the bottom of the image circle. I then adhered the deer to the circle and tied the cheater’s knot at the left side.

This is a simple, yet striking card, that was so easy to make and for you to recreate.

For the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Peaceful Deer and added another poppy with a leaf inside.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
