Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge 291: Celebrations

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge 291, where we are have a theme of Celebrations, which can include any event important to you of birthdays, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, wherever your imagination takes you, and hope that you join us.

I had one more Christmas card to share with you created with the retiring and deeply discounted Words of Cheer Bundle.

I have had COVID for the past 12 days (2 on, 5 off, then DOWN) by the time you read this and am severely behind with everything that I wanted to complete before Christmas, including sending out cards and presents. I swear I got the Delta and Omicron variants at the same time + there was a tremendous allergy component contributing due to the crazy weather of it being 80 one day and 50 the next. It’s been quite the ordeal with a healing broken leg. I knew I was in trouble when I completely lost my sense of smell and taste. I still don’t have it back. It’s disgusting chewing food with no taste.

My original intent was to lay the image directly down on the Basic White CS and fussy cut the large flower to pop up on Dimensionals. I had some serious fog brain going on and ended up winging it. I’m barely getting this up in time. I am seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and am incredibly relieved. Mucinex Nightshift is the absolute best and made a tremendous difference by taking the death edge off.

Remember, all of our products from the Christmas catalog will be available to you until January 3 and I encourage you to go shopping and visit the updated Clearance Rack.

I used several different coloring mediums on this card of watercolor pencils + Blender Pen, Stampin’ Blends, and Wink of Stella.

As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.

I started off with an A2 top-folding Smoky Slate card base and cut a piece of Poppy Parade and Basic White Regular CS to the measurements below. The entire image panel ended up being adhered to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals upon completion.

The Basic White Regular CS was dry embossed with our Painted Texture EF, that was adhered to the Poppy Parade mat with liquid adhesive.

I had sized up the large stamped image as to placement where I wanted to tie our fabulous Seam Binding around the middle of the image panel that I bowed off to the right.

I stamped the sentiment from Words of Cheer onto a piece of Vellum CS with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with silver powder, which was then cut with a frame from Tasteful Labels.

I stamped the image onto Basic White Thick CS twice with Smoky Slate ink and left the image on the door of my Stamparatus.

I colored in the flowers with Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends Markers and the leaves with a Basic Gray Watercolor Pencil that was blended out with a Blender Pen.

The round sprigs were colored in with a Wink of Stella Glitter Pen.

Once the image was colored in, I inked up the image again with Smoky Slate and re-stamped the images to crisp up the lines.

One image was cut with it’s coordinating die and with the other image, I used this to fussy cut out the large Poppy Parade flower to adhere to the die-cut image with a Stampin’ Dimensional. I like to use a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to outline images after I fussy cut them to keep the image cohesive, crisp, and clean looking around the edges.

The image was adhered to the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals with the vellum sentiment placed towards the right by the seam binding bow. To maintain the clear vellum look, I cut up a Stampin’ Dimensional into teeny pieces and placed one under where I adhered the silver epoxy embellishments. More silver embellishments were scattered about the card front.

I LOVE the inside sentiment and FINALLY! … when you’re heard. Not everybody is a couple and this sentiment was so badly needed. Look for more of this in the future.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
