Dry Embossed Die Panels: Tropical Chic

Hello there y’all! One week ago today, I had a scuffle with a tool, my left thumb lost, and here I am with 4 stitches. It has not been fun. It’s also why I haven’t been able to do your requested videos. This is not pleasant to look at and it’s difficult to work with it wrapped up. Now that the swelling has gone down a little, I feel like I have porcupine needles sticking out and feeling them is even more gross. Ugh. That was probably oversharing, but no pictures.

This project is about as close as I’m going to get to anything Valentine’s Day. We are focusing on the Tropical Suite Product Suite today, which is fabulously fun to work with during a polar vortex. The image coordinating die-cuts and decorative die elements afford you tremendous design opportunities. All of the images are solid, but the dies will capture your attention with the frames and ability to use the dies as solid images or intricately detailed.

One thing I love about Product Suites is the coordination with the designer series paper (DSP), elements, and accessories. On this project, I used a piece of A2 cut Thick Whisper White cardstock as the base and layered a piece of Tropical Escape DSP. There are several hues of green in this suite and it was easy to step outside of the matchy-matchy and incorporate other greens without throwing it all off.

My focal die-cut and dry embossed panel is on Shaded Spruce, which is why I chose the DSP pattern that I did with hardly any Shaded Spruce, as that color is bold against the subtle colors. I cut a piece to 3-3/4 x 4-3/4 and dry embossed it with Layered Leaves, added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back and centered on the card. I laid down the palms and flower in Old Olive, Petal Pink, and Soft Seafood, and then die-cut through the Big Shot with their coordinating Framelits. I took a scrap of Petal Pink cardstock and added the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black using my Stamparatus, as I like very crisp greetings. I used a darling wooden button from Tropical Elements with Basic Black Baker’s Twine to ground my image collage with a left focus.

Additional dimension was added under the focal collage with Stampin’ Dimensionals. We doubled up on the lift, but it’s nothing obnoxious as you can see above, and it will still go through the mail.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Thank you so very much for stopping by to visit me today. Have a great day and God bless.
