Make the Cards Challenge #60: Use a Black Background

Hello there! Thank you for joining me today for Make the Cards Challenge #60, where the theme is to use a black background and we hope that you join us.

I used the Rustic Harvest Suite Collection + the Give It a Whirl Dies to make this super easy pumpkin card out of die-cuts with Gold Foil Sheet accents.

The Rustic Harvest Suite Collection is a stunning array of beautifully fall designer series paper, jewels, kraft leaves, stamps, and coordinating die-cuts with fabulous standalone dies that I used to die-cut the pumpkin + a package of 12 x 12 Basic Black Cardstock. Also included is the new Embossing Additions Tool Kit, shown in the upper right corner.

As always, your shopping Supplies and Instructions, including measurements, are below.

I started out with an A2 top-folding landscape card base, layered on a piece of Basic White DSP, and adhered a piece of Rustic Harvest Designer Series paper atop of that; all cut within 1/8″ increments and adhered with liquid adhesive.

I then went about my die-cutting a panel of the standalone pumpkin die x 5 from Rustic Harvest DSP and Neutrals 6 x 6 DSP. I cut 2 Early Espresso standalone stems and 3 accent pieces from our Gold Foil Paper with an Adhesive Sheet behind it.

A Sponge Dauber loaded with Crumb Cake ink was inked around the edges of the pumpkin panels and stems, as well as the sentiment stamped in Early Espresso onto Basic White CS and cut from a Give It a Whirl frame.

For final assembly, building out from the middle, I took the center panel of the pumpkin and lined both edges on the back with a little liquid adhesive then adhered 2 panels behind the center panel. The same process was used for the outer 2 edges of the pumpkin.

The stems were adhered behind the center panel with liquid adhesive.

Stampin’ Dimensionals were added to the back of the pumpkin and adhered to the center of the card.

The sentiment was adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and an Amber Gem adhered to the bottom right.

I peeled the adhesive backing paper off the back of the Gold Foil Sheet cuts and adhered them to the pumpkin as shown.

I tied a bow with Linen Thread that was adhered with a Mini Glue Dot.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions. This really was easy to make.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
