Hello there! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend … I’m really hoping the unexpected freak storm snow finishes up melting today. I normally don’t see snow until late December and this just was not pleasant.
Thank you for joining me today for a Color Theory project featuring a striking nontraditional Christmas color palette. I love mixing my neutrals and metallics. Imagine using our glimmer paper for the mittens, an embossing folder, designer series paper, etc. The possibilities are endless with this one. I inked up the Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder with Smoky Slate to create my tag. I mistakenly listed Snowflake Sky as the EF.
After taking pictures, I decided to flick a barely there Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker using the cap for a subtle accent that really gave this some edge, and did take a quick picture to share with you below. The same could be done with a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen.
As always, project specific supplies with basic supplies are below.

I started out with a top-folding A2 Basic White Thick CS base.
I pulled out the Celebrate With Tags Bundle, Give It a Whirl Dies, my card stock, and went to work.

First, I cut one of the tags from Celebrations Tag Dies but only the top, and trimmed the sides off that would make a gift card holder. I then inked up the back side of the Christmas Tidings EF with Smoky Slate ink, placed my tag on top face side down, and ran this through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I adhered the tag to the card base with liquid adhesive.
An Adhesive Sheet was adhered to a scrap piece of Very Vanilla Regular CS. I cut my paper strips from Old Olive, Starry Sky, Blackberry Bliss, Smoky Slate, and Very Vanilla Regular CS to 1/2″ in width that were adhered atop of the Very Vanilla Regular CS with the sticky adhesive. I die-cut two mittens from Celebrations Tag Dies.
Two Very Vanilla Regular CS snowflakes were cut from Celebration Tag Dies and adhered together with liquid adhesive at the center.
The sentiment from Celebration Tags was stamped onto Very Vanilla Regular CS with Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold powder, then cut from it’s coordinating Celebrations Tag Dies.

For final assembly, I adhered a piece of black & white twine to the back of the mittens with Scotch Tape, adhered the mittens to the card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals, made my twine loop, then adhered a Blackberry Bliss small heart cut from Give It a Whirl Dies with liquid adhesive.
The snowflakes were adhered with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional, as was the sentiment below the the mittens.
The card was embellished Loose Silver Sequins that were adhered with a Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

Lastly, a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker cap was used to flick subtle splats to break up the stark white.
I hope you enjoyed today’s project and please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit and have a great day!
