Hello there friends! I’m Sale-A-Brating with you for a few days. For those of you who are new to my blog, welcome! For my regular readers, welcome back!
I wanted to go over what Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration is with you today. I also have a fun card made with Hey, Chick using the new Watercolor Pencils, ink and a process video.
Sale-A-Bration is a wonderful annual event that Stampin’ Up! has starting at the beginning of each year and ending on March 31. Around the middle of February, at the 6-week or so mark, additional Sale-A-Bration products are introduced. We have 3 brand new products coming out on February 21 and they are very cool. There are 2 stamp sets and a 6 x 6 pack of Glimmer Paper that you’re going to hoard – at least I am. The colors are Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum. I will be using these products during this miniseries too.
I have a few projects left from Valentine’s Day, but now we are going to call them love-themed. Now you know Stampin’ Up! has the best glitter cardstock out there and I always keep the really good specialty items, like printed acetate, glassine, foil and vellum. For Christmas 2015, remember the beautiful watercolor DSP we had? Oh I loved it and I wish it did not retire. There were so many different patterns that could be used year-round, not to mention, again, how gorgeous it is. Sadly, all of my retired Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper is now packaged up and ready to go to a new home once I resume destashing, which I really need to do.
SALE-A-BRATION: Well I’m just getting way off track here and all scatterbrained. Okay, how Sale-A-Bration works is very simple. For every $50 you spend before shipping and tax, you get to pick a free product out of the Sale-A-Bration Brochure. If you place a $150 order, you get to pick 3 Sale-A-Bration products AND get Hostess Benefits at the same time, and that’s another stamp set or whatever else you want out of the current catalogs or even the Clearance Rack. That’s Sale-A-Bration for you!
I would love to earn your business and if you need any catalogs and/or brochures and live in the United States, please use the Contact Form above and let me know what you would like with your address and I’ll be sure to get your request off straightaway.
CARD: I made a darling little gift set of 4 x 4 cards using Hey, Chick and my sentiment on the inside comes from All Things Thanks. I have a process video for you too and I also show you a little selective inking – the 1″ ink cubes are perfect for this! – a little card surgery, a little bit about the Multi-Purpose Platform and a very cool idea I saw on You Tube to make a paint palette that I love and works like a charm.
One thing that I’ve learned about watercoloring and really anything that gets wet, is to let it dry naturally 99% of the time. In the video, you can see the significant difference between the image that was heat set to speed up the drying time and the card that I made above that I let dry on its own.
Look how vivid my color is! And this is watercoloring with Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils to accent and add more detail, but you will see how easily my technicolor chicken was pulled together by using my ink cubes with my DIY palette and an Aqua Painter. I get my 1″ ink cubes from being a Paper Pumpkin subscriber or you can make your own cubes, which I show you how to in the video. The only time I squeezed the barrel of the painter was to clean the brush when I changed colors because that water comes out. Be sure to keep a paper towel, tissue or an absorber close by.
I love the little Burlap Ribbon detail and the Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder. I do wish I had flipped that panel over to the debossed side. The dimension would have been phenomenal! I did add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the Real Red scalloped circle. Since the margins are so tight, you will lose your scallop mat if you put the image on foam tape.
Thank you so very much for stopping by to visit me today. I hope you have a wonderful day and God bless.
